Well the rains tried their best today to squash our conservative enthusiasm, but a bunch of us still went out and knocked on doors and spread the good word. Congressman Herger even joined in this morning and knocked on some doors. At noon we took a break for pizza with friends and then back into the
storm. Later in the day Channel 12 came by to catch us in action.
While our volunteers did a good job today, we could have used a lot more.
There are two days left to campaign in this election. Whether you support Proposition 8 (marriage only for a man and a woman) or oppose the high speed rail bond (billions of state spending during a budget crisis on a train between Los Angeles and Sacramento). Whether you want to give your full
effort for John McCain and Sarah Palin, or just want to keep Barack Obama from becoming a liberal president with a democrat controlled Congress, the time for you to act is NOW. Four days from now it will be too late for you to do anything.
Stop by the Republican Headquarters and grab a precinct walking packet, we have plenty there for you. Give us three hours of your day and get out there and knock on a few doors. You know why you’re voting Republican, we need you to tell everyone else.
It’s been a long haul but we’re nearly done. I walked today until my socks were soggy but I still had fun. The people who I talked too were extremely supportive and thanked us for our efforts. If nothing else, we’re winning back the esteem of our Republican Party by showing that we’re not afraid to
work for it.
Thank you all for your efforts,
Steve Thompson, Chairman
Butte County Republican Party
